Food sensitivity or intolerance is known as non-IgE mediated hypersensitivity.
Food intolerance does not involve the immune system – there is no allergic reaction, and it is never life-threatening. A food intolerance may include difficulty digesting certain foods or having a physical reaction to them.
Symptoms can take several hours to occur after ingesting the specific food and might stay for several hours or days.
These symptoms may include bloating, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, gas, headache, skin rash, fatigue, arthritis and others.

Some of the causes are:
-
Lacking a specific enzyme that breaks down the food
-
Chemicals in foods and drinks such as food additives, naturally occurred toxins, or foods with high level of histamine
Some co-factors for developing food intolerance can be leaky gut, chronic intestinal candidiasis, and parasites.
Examples of food intolerance are lactose , gluten , coffee, eggs, artificial sweeteners, foods high in salicylates or sulfites and others.
